Introducing the New Turn-Groove Insert for Multi-Purpose Machining

  YG-1 has introduced the new turn-groove insert, designed for multitasking machining applications involving external and internal grooving, face grooving, turning, and parting off, all with a single insert.

Designed with optimal chip breakers, it is suitable for multi-purpose applications, including turn-groove, grooving, and parting off for various workpiece materials. The double-ended insert is available in three different chip breakers, as follows:

The GL chip breaker is well-suited for turn-groove and grooving, offering low cutting force and excellent chip evacuation.

The GM chip breaker is suitable for turning, grooving, and face turn-groove, providing stable edge strength and a wide cutting range.

The RG chip breaker, a full-radius insert, offers versatility in profile machining applications.

It’s recommended to employ different feed rates during turning and grooving operations for each chip breaker type. The three chip breaker options find utility across a range of machining fields.
